WANDER NORTHERN MYANMAR
Day 1: Arrive Yangon
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your
Guide who will accompany you as you transfer to the hotel.
Yangon, formerly known as
Rangoon, is a relatively quiet and charming city. Its impressive colonial and spiritual
heritage makes it one of the most fascinating cities in Southeast Asia.
Lunch at local restaurant (own
account)
This afternoon, your journey
begins with a visit around the city and its highlights. Stop at the National Museum where a tour of
the priceless ancient artifacts, works of art and historic memorabilia
will help you gain insight in to the country’s history. Of particular note are the three halls on the
ground floor, which hold exhibits on the evolution the Myanmar alphabet, the
Lion Throne Room, and artifacts from the Yatanabon Period. Continue to Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, which houses
a 70-meter reclining Buddha.
Continue to Shwedagon Pagoda,
the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar.
The central stupa is over 90 meters tall and gilded with gold leaf- a
breathtaking and colorful sight which dominates the city skyline

Day
2: Yangon – Putao (by flight) (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will transfer to airport for domestic flight to
Putao. Upon arrival at Putao airport you will be met by one of our resident
representatives and transferred to your designated guest house. After
freshening up, we shall walk to the near by local restaurant for lunch. In the
afternoon, we will take a walk to near by Majaw Lisu village (about 2 hour)
through the paddy fields. This beautiful village has Mt. Slimatdin as a
backdrop, with blazing snow over the horizon during sunset. We shall have a
group meeting, to introduce staff and get a briefing about the trek prior to
dinner.
Overnight in Putao. (basic standard facilities such as proper sleeping
facility, warm water and western toilet will be provided)
Day
3: Putao - Nam Htu Koo (trek) (B,L,D)
This morning trek to Nam Htu Koo Lisu village, situated about 20 km
west of Putao. First we walk through cultivated fields, passing some small
villages and farm land. After about one hour of walking on flat land, we are
immediately into the wilderness with lush tropical evergreen forests. A 3 hours
trek uphill takes us to the shoulder of Nam Htu Khoo mountain range (2300 feet
or 700 meters). Here we get sweeping
views of the surrounding valley filled with farm land. To the west, it is
possible to see the 11530 feet (3495 meters) high Lancrumadin Mountain towards
Indian border. Enjoy the views and a packed lunch before continuing one more
hour through the farm to the village of Nam Htu Koo. We check in at our
designated home and walk to the creek to fresh up.
Dinner and overnight will be at a designated guesthouse with local
style central fire place. (mattress, blanket and pillow will be provided)
Day
4: Nam Htu Koo - Mulashidi - Putao (trek/car) (B,L,D)
After breakfast, wander through the village to meet the friendly
residents and enjoy some social and cultural interaction. We later depart the
village for a 45 minute walk through the banks of the Nam Htu Koo creek. Once
we get into the wildness, the terrain becomes quite steep leading us up to
approx 2295 feet (700 meters). We trek about 2 hour through quite strenuous
jungle trail in dense forest filled with bamboo. Then, the trek gradually
descends through farm land and spectacular views of the Putao plain and Mula
creek come in to sight. Another two hours of easy trekking takes us to
Mulashidi village. Here we have our lunch and relax by the Mula creek. Later,
our car meet us to take us back to Putao where we will say farewell to our
trekking crew over dinner.

Day
5: Putao Machanbaw – Putao
(B,L,D)
This morning,
visit the attractive Putao market which is often filled with local tribal such
as Rawan, Lisu, Kachin etc. who come to buy and sell their goods and
produce. Travel to Machanbaw (20 km,
approx one hour), a small administrative town with beautiful colonial style
buildings. We arrive at Naungkan village
and walk through by a small suspension bridge span across Malikha river to
Machanbaw. Visit the town’s small market and beautiful banks of the Malikha
River. Return to Putao in the evening for dinner.

Day
6: Putao – Yangon
(B)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward
flight. Upon arrival at Yangon, you will transfer to your hotel and rest of the
day at leisure.

Overnight in Yangon
After breakfast, you
will be transfer to Yangon International Airport for your onward flights.

and road condition in Northern Part of Myanmar.
