Bird Watching in Myanmar ( Birding trips )

Myanmar is situated in the north west of Indochina Peninsula and has a land area of 658,000 km2 and coastline of 1900 km. The country spans an elevation range of nearly 6,000m, from the summit of Hkakaborazi (5881m) , South-east Asia’s highest mountain, to the shores of the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Between these two extremes, the country encompasses several mountain ranges, extensive lowland plains and one of Asia’s largest river deltas.

More than a thousand species of bird (1017) have been recorded in Myanmar and this makes it one of the most diverse bird faunas per unit area of any country in the world. Such a paradise for birding!
